flute& Starlit Flutists Concert 2012' is coming on 7th in March at Youngsan Art Hall.

This wonderful concert is one of the best precious event of magazine 'flute&' and it's absolutely meaningful debut stage for remarkable upcoming Korean flutists.

매거진 flute& 신인음악회는 매년 새롭게 등장하는 많은 신예 연주자들 가운데 엄격한 심사와 추천을 거쳐 한국의 프로 플루티스트로서의 시작을 자리매김하는, 플루티스트들의 공식 등용문으로서 2012년에는 3월 7일(수) 오후 7시 30분에 여의도 영산아트홀에서 열린다.

본 음악회는 2002년 창간되어 한국의 플루티스트들의 발전과 함께 성장해온 플루트 전문 매거진 ‘flute&‘이 개최하는 가장 중요도 높은 행사의 하나로서, 참가자들은 ’flute&‘과 국내외 정상급 플루티스트 및 유명대학 교수진에 의해 공정하게 검증된 재원들이다.

올 해의 <매거진 flute& 신인음악회>에 출연자로는 권영인(비엔나 국립음대 최고연주자과정 수료), 김일지(경기필하모닉 수석), 나채원(만하임국립음대 최고연주자과정 졸업), 오병철(CRR de Rueil-Malmaison 최고연주자과정 졸업), 오승연(보스톤음대 박사 수료), 유주연(파리사범고등음악원 최고연주자과정 졸업), 이지영(미네소타음대 박사 졸업), 임진영(맨하튼음대, 카네기멜론 석사 졸업)이 선발되어 화려한 무대를 선보인다. 이들은 유럽의 플루트 강국과 미국의 유수한 학교, 그리고 국내외 활동무대에서 음악인으로서의 실력을 검증받아 연주자로서 날개를 펼치고 있다.

이 공연의 출연 연주자들은 각자의 기량과 재능을 유감없이 뽐낼 수 있는 독주곡을 스스로 선택하여 연주하며 선의의 경쟁을 즐긴다. 또한 매거진 'flute&'은 이번 공연에서 보여질 한국의 젊은 신예 플루티스트들의 화려한 연주에 비추어 우리 플루트계의 과거와 현재 그리고 미래를 조망해 보고자 한다.

[Flutehouse Potato-blossom Summer camp] being reborn to ['flute&' Summer Camp!] in this summer.

Especially starting in this year, Flutehouse and Potato-blossom studio prepare the events jointly, the camp has getting and getting more interested and spotlight by press recently.

The camp acts as a liaison by just one item, flute between the public and the culture of classical music. Training and performance including local exchange is a unique classical music cultural events. 



The active flute camp which produced by various people, professional musicians, flute educators, and city students majoring in the flute. But the main thing is that involved the people and students who live in the small village of Gangwon region.

These flutists and local people to share the time with the flute and the music make very meaningful experience which linked to the enjoyment and increasing of cultural and artistic opportunities for public. The camp is looking forward to contribute to the culture of region flute and make a cultural arts center in the network for develop a new special mecca of Asia.

Magazine 'flute&'has a proud and responsiblity of the center of Asian flute culture from Republic of Korea. We're also do our best for sharing our artistic experience and warm mind with communities to make a root of new growing bases.

 This is the 2nd recital of Flutist Henrik Wiese in Seoul. In this recital, Korean flutist Jieun Han and  pianist Jeonghwa Hur show the great ensemble with him.

 The German flutist Henrik Wiese comes from a Hamburg merchant family and was born in Vienna in 1971. He enjoyed his artistic training at tits Dörnbrak Ingrid Koch and Paul. He also completed a study of Indo-European linguistics, general linguistics and musicology in Munich. Henrik Wiese was at competitions and received several prizes, including the German Music Competition (1995), at the international competitions in Kobe / Japan (1997), Mark Neukirchen / Germany (1998), Odense / Denmark (1998) and at the prestigious ARD Competition Munich (2000). As a substitute, he has been allowed to accumulate while studying orchestral experience with the Munich Philharmonic under Sergiu Celibidache. From 1995 to 2006 he was principal flutist at the Bavarian State Opera Orchestra under Music Director Zubin Mehta. This period also includes a DVD recording of the 4th Symphony by Brahms conducted by Carlos Kleiber on the lawn listening to Henrik and seen. Since 2006 Henrik Wiese solo flutist with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra under chief conductor Mariss Jansons.

Henrik Wiese synesthetes, that he hears colors. This rare gift of nature for him is an important source of his artistic activity. (The background color of this site are similar to his synaesthesia at a C-major scale.) Solo concerts Henrik Wiese played not only with the Bavarian State Orchestra and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, but also for example with the Rundfunk-Sinfonie-Orchester Berlin, the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra the NDR Hannover, the Polish Chamber Philharmonic, the Prague Chamber Orchestra and the Munich Chamber Orchestra. In the summer of 2011, Henrik Wiese Artist in Residence at the Bach Week in Ansbach, in the autumn of 2011 he will play Mozart's Flute Concerto K. 314 on an India tour. His wide-ranging artistic activity has been documented primarily in the field of chamber music by several CD recordings. 2011 Henrik Wiese will take a CD with works by Carl Reinecke.

Besides the modern Böhm flute plays flute and Henrik Wiese also is on that instrument in the Accademia giocosa to hear a special ensemble for early music.
Henrik Wiese shares his artistic experience in the Orchestra Academy of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra to students. He also gave master classes in Copenhagen / Denmark, Mondoñedo / Spain and Weikersheim / Germany as well as master classes in various countries (especially Japan). In special workshops, he taught writing and developed the classic cadences intonational hearing. In the summer of 2011 Henrik Wiese will give a master class in Copenhagen.

His scientific interest is reflected in its extensive editorial step for well-known publishers. His main interest lies not only in the flute music, but also generally in the works of Mozart, Bach's pupil Johann Philipp Kirnberger and the Leipzig Gewandhaus Kapellmeister Carl Reinecke. Currently, he works out an edition of Mozart's Symphony Hafner & K. 385 for Breikopf Härtel.
After various, also spoke scientific publications, Henrik Wiese is now devoting his doctoral thesis on "Notation in Mozart's autograph."

* Flutist Yerin Lee, winner of the Gaston Crunelle-Wurmser, Picardie, Leopold-Bellan, and Seoul Young Artist Competitions, has given solo recitals and performed chamber music and orchestra concerts in Europe and Asia’s leading concert halls.

Following training at Korea’s Sun-Hwa arts school, she studied in France, where she earned first prize at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Lyon as a student of Philippe Bernold. She is also a graduate of the Meisterklasse at the Hochschule fuer Musik in Munich, where she studied with Andras Adorjan.

She currently plays as principal flutist in the Suwon Philharmonic Orchestra and teaches at University of Seoul, Chung-Ang University, Sang-Myung University, Suwon University and Sun-Hwa arts school.

흔히 재능이 있는 사람은 노력하는 사람을, 노력하는 사람은 즐기는 사람을 따라 오지 못한다고들 한다. 마치 꿈꾸던 자리에서 음악을 즐기고 있는 수원시립교향악단 수석 플루티스트 이예린을 두고 하는 말인 듯싶다.


프랑스 리용 국립고등음악원 재학시절, 그의 스승이었던 플루티스트 필립 베르놀드(Philippe Bernold)는 항상 동기를 부여하고 자신감을 불어넣어 주곤 했는데, 어느 날 학교 오케스트라 수석자리를 담당한 이예린의 연주를 듣고는 “넌 나중에 꼭 좋은 오케스트라 수석으로 들어갈 수 있을 거야!”라고 칭찬해 주었다. 그리고 지금, 좌절할 때 마다 그 말씀을 새기며 힘을 얻던 이예린은 스승의 말대로 그 자리에 있다.

커버스토리: 플루티스트 김나원

차갑고 다소는 도도한 플루티스트를 연상했다고 고백해야겠다. 그녀의 이력이 주는 느낌이 왠지 그럴 것 같았으므로. 그러나 플루티스트 김나원은 그녀의 재능과 가르침에 대한 열정, 그리고 부드러운 카리스마로 사람을 감동시킬 줄 아는 음악인이었다. 마음을 울리는 순수한 음악의 힘을 그녀에게서 배운다.

당시 700명 정도의 한국인 박사과정 학생 중 공대학생 한 명과 올A 성적의 김나원, 이렇게 두 명만 4.0이상의 성적 그룹인 ‘그릭소사이어티’에 들었다고 하니 그 때를 추억하는 그녀의 얼굴에서 또다시 생기가 돈다. 즐기는 자는 따라갈 수가 없나보다.

The Starlit Concert!

We can predict current state for flute music community in South Korea.

Cool stage, vivacious flutists playing!

The brilliant debut of new generation flutists!

This is the official gateway to success as a flutist in Korea!

Many rookie flute players are emerging each year in the world and Korea. But these special players were selected among them by principal flutists or professors through rigorous screening and referral.

This Concert is one of the most critical concert of flute&. The Korean unique Flute professional magazine flute & (Flute & Flutist) was launched in 2002 have been growing with the development of flutists and flute culture of Korea.

Appeared performers show solo pieces that can boast their own skills and talents. Which were wholly chose by themselves.

This concert would be the stage to prove the fact that Korea has grown into a world-class flute community through colorful performances of Korean promising players.

‘오케스트라가 참 좋아요.’ 2년 6개월여 만에 다시 만난 그는 여전히 오케스트라와 사랑에 빠진, 그리고 빠른 변화 사회 속에서도 변함없이 오케스트라가 선택한 플루티스트였다. 이미선은 1989년, 만 25세의 젊은 나이에 코리안 심포니 오케스트라에 입단하여 2011년이 된 지금까지 짧지 않은 기간 동안 성실한 하루하루를 차곡차곡 쌓아 20년이 넘는 긴 세월의 발자취를 남기고 있다.

비결이라면, 이제는 일상으로 자리 잡은 오케스트라 수석으로서의 생활에 매일 최선을 다했을 뿐, 몇 십 년을 기필코 채우고 말리라는 야심찬 다짐으로 이루어진 것은 분명 아니었으리라.

flute & Kokopelli

Actually, we had got really interested in Kokopelli through the flute music piece "Kokopelli" by Katherine Hoover. Besides, Elizabeth Buck(Professor of Arizona Univ.) performed this music last year with flutehouse in Korea. It was so great story. So, how can we re-inform this attractive legends to Korean flutists and students? 

"There are many symbols in this work. The basic idea was that we are a part of everyone and everything. I included a white man, a black man, a native American, fish to represent the animal world, and Kachina figures to represent God beliefs. The beautiful snake represents and is a disguise for the evil in the world and I included kokopelli flute players to keep it soothed and under control. Every color is present in varying degrees in every section of the painting as curved lines to show the interconnection of all that is. I find that people often present a well-dressed image but there is so much going on inside, influences from everyone we have met and every belief we have."  -MtnWoman Silver-

MtnWoman Silver

{flute&} talked with MtnWoman Silver who is the artist related with Kokopelli. Then, who is Kokopelli? More detail stories of he are on the magazine {flute&} Vol.52.

Silver has been a professional artist for 25 years and currently resides in Oklahoma City. Her formal education includes a fine arts degree in studio arts and post-graduate study in graphic design. She has lived and painted in Louisiana, Colorado, Tennessee, Texas, and Oklahoma. In her current work, she uses acrylic paint, hand-painted and stamped papers, found objects, and fabric. Her paintings, mixed media works, and art quilts have won numerous awards and have been exhibited in regional and national juried shows. She is a member of the National Collage Association, Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition, Fiber- Artists of Oklahoma, Oklahoma Art Guild, and Oklahoma Watermedia Association.
